[GOOD STUFF - Vol 1]

Lately I’ve been in the mood for journaling, really enjoying the smallest details in life. Here’s something I picked up that feels pretty cool to me and it's some functional (and really, really cool) stationery I’m loving right now

1. Uni by Mitsubishi - Kuru Toga Mechanical Pencil

Uni just won the Japan Stationery Awards 2025 for their Kuru Toga Metal mechanical pencil. The one I got isn’t that exact model, but I love the mechanism, the rotating lead keeps the tip sharp and the stroke width consistent, which is super useful when I’m sketching designs or writing. Big fan of the silver finish too, with the exposed orange rotation gear that gives me total Dieter Rams vibes.

2. Uni by Mitsubishi - Smudge Proof Leads

Who likes sketching or writing with dirty palms? Smudge proof leads all day!!

3. SEED - Radar Point Extra-Thin Eraser

Another Japan Stationery Awards 2025 pick. I grabbed the Radar Point extra-thin version to erase fine strokes. After trying it out… it’s okay, does the job, but nothing too crazy for me 🥴

So, a little off-topic. Undercover just opened a YouTube channel and uploaded the behind the scenes of their 35th Anniversay "but beautiful" collection. If you know this one, you’ll know how legendary it is, and how it shifted the way people looked at fashion back then.

What really struck me was a short scene of Jun Takahashi sketching with a Rotring mechanical pencil. Just a simple tool, but it reminded me how these small details, the tools, the process can be so beautiful if you really pay attention. It made me feel good seeing how people care about design and science, whether in small or big ways.

Anyway, nothing important. Just some bullshit running through my head.
